Transcript
So for the next series of Monday Minutes, what we’re going to be looking at is the five tools that you need in order to build trust with your audience. And we’re going to look back to Aristotle and his Five Rhetorical Appeals. So the first one that we’re going to focus on today is Ethos, which translates into nature or disposition, but if we look at it in a modern context, what we’re looking at is experience. So an audience needs to trust that you have the necessary experience to be the expert speaking to them. And there are various ways that we can look at that: It can be your degrees, it could be the types of courses that you’ve taken, it could be the types of clients that you serve, it could be the spaces that you’ve spoken at. All of that validates for an audience that you are worthy of being listened to, and trusted. Stay tuned for the next one.
