Monday Minute: SPEAK don’t TWEAK
You need to prepare for your next talk, you bettah SPEAK not TWEAK!
Transcript
It is time for your Fearless Monday Minute. Now I have a confession to make. I hate rehearsing. Like hate it when I prepare a speech, the last thing that I want to do is get up on my feet and awkwardly try to stumble through the presentation that I’m about to give. But I swear to you there is nothing more valuable than stumbling through and getting it out of your body and getting it out in your voice. Many times because it’s so awkward to do that exercise, what we do is we spend all our time tweaking our presentation, wrestling over this word, or that word or this image or that image, and focusing all the extraneous stuff that’s actually not the physically embodiment of the speaking that you’re about to give. So for your next presentation, I invite you to be a speaker and not a tweaker. Getting it into your body is going to serve you much more than all of that time that you’re spending, micro editing whether that image or that image is going to be better for your presentation.
